The project consisted of one storey back extension, loft conversion with erection of two dormers and full internal refurbishment as well as an outbuilding.
The original features of this Victorian building, located in conservation area, were kept where possible. Any new woodwork was carefully designed to match the period features such as panelled doors, wall panelling and cornices. We think the contemporary kitchen and Zinc cladded extensions work beautifully in contrast with the period original building.
St Georges Square
CBO Architects has recently completed the interior refurbishment of this stunning split level flat in St Georges Square.
The Client brief was to maximise the daylight in the bottom floor and introduce new architectural elements without compromise the traditional character of the flat. CBO Architects has designed a new relation between kitchen and dining area through the enlargement of the existing door transformed in two leaf self closing sliding door. This has allowed the daylight to flood into the all flat, eliminating all shaded zones and at the same time creating new pleasant living zones. The existing traditional features have been kept in place and emphasized with the contrast created by the introduction of new coloured and modern items.
